At Emerald Plumbing, we believe in complete transparency. Below are our pricing structures, service call fee terms, and essential piping disclosures.

Upfront Flat-Rate Pricing

We charge by the job, not by the hour. Before our technicians begin physical repairs, they will inspect the issue and present you with an exact price quote for approval. If the repair takes longer than expected, the price stays the same. You will never face surprise fees on your final invoice.

Dispatch & Diagnostic Fees

To cover the cost of vehicle dispatch and the technician's professional diagnostics, we charge a standard service call fee. When you authorize us to perform the recommended repairs during that same visit, the service call fee is fully credited toward your total repair cost.

⚠️ Older CPVC Piping Warning & Policy

If your Orlando-area home was constructed between the late 1980s and early 2000s, it may contain cream-colored CPVC (chlorinated polyvinyl chloride) water piping. Over years of exposure to heat and chlorinated municipal tap water, CPVC becomes highly brittle and loses its structural elasticity.

Because of this, simple torque—such as replacing an under-sink shut-off valve, tightening a faucet supply line, or adjusting a shower cartridge—can cause the rigid CPVC line inside the wall to crack or shatter. To protect your home:

  • Water Shut-off Mandate: Our technicians mandate shutting off the water at the main street meter or whole-house shut-off valve before attempting any physical repair on CPVC lines.
  • Liability Disclosure: Because CPVC crystallization is a chemical deterioration out of our control, Emerald Plumbing is not liable for fractures that propagate inside wall cavities during standard fixture manipulations. We recommend whole-house repiping to permanently eliminate this hazard.

Polybutylene Piping Advisory

Polybutylene (grey plastic piping) is prone to sudden micro-fractures from municipal water treatment chemicals. This material is no longer approved under Florida building codes. If our diagnostics identify active leaks or presence of polybutylene, our technicians will provide estimates for whole-house copper or PEX repiping. We do not perform localized repairs on polybutylene lines due to high re-failure rates.
